Day 8...I'm Thankful for...

....Saturday Night Live for making me laugh for more years than I can count. Hugh and I have been loyal fans of this show since high school, and we still get excited to watch it on Saturday nights. Last night's episode was the best I've seen in a while, and Taylor Swift (who was the host) did a surprisingly great job. My favorite was the Digital Short (love the Digital Shorts) that was a "Twilight" parody. So funny. Enjoy!

Day 7...I'm Thankful for....

....Richard Paul Evans. That man can write! I finished his latest novel "The Christmas List" yesterday and I loved it, just as I love all of his books. The first book of his that I read was "The Christmas Box" and it was a healing book for me. His books are easy to read, and they are very engaging. I would recommend him to anyone. I've had the honor of meeting him on several occassions, and each time I am in awe that he comes up with these stories in his head!! "The Christmas Box" is my all time favorite, and I read it each Christmas. I have a few copies of it if anyone wants to borrow it. I highly recommend it!

Day 6...I'm Thankful for...

....my marriage! Today is my 17th wedding anniversary! Hugh still makes me laugh every day, and I am still madly in love with him. There is nothing better than being married to your best friend.

Day 5...I'm Thankful for

....Alison Bosen, who took time out of her busy life (she's the mother to 7 children) to edit my manuscript. She is a master proof reader, plus she has given me such great insight as to what needs to be added or taken away from what I've written. She's done an amazing job, and I'm so grateful for her time! Thanks Alison!!

Oooops!

Ok. My brain is not working properly. A few days ago, I wrote this blog and thanked several people BY NAME. And, of course, I left someone out! So, this blog is a special THANK YOU to DANIECE CRUMP for bringing us a lovely dinner - not once, but TWICE - while I was sick. And a big "sorry" for leaving you out of my previous post. Whoops!!!

Day 4...I'm Thankful....

....that my jeans still fit!!! About two years ago, I dropped a few pounds, got rid of all of my jeans, and bought all new jeans in my new size. THEY STILL FIT!! And, thanks to my new roommates (aka Swine Flu and Pneumonia) the jeans are actually a little too loose right now. I'm sure that will be remedied quickly. As long as I still have the junk in my trunk, I'll be good. Gotta love a girl with a bootie.

Day 2...I'm Thankful for....

This is where I find Griffin & Zoey each morning when I come back from dropping the kids off at school. They just sit here....waiting for Mom to come home. I love it.

...Griffin & Zoey. These two dogs crack me up. They are best friends and make me laugh every day. They love me NO MATTER WHAT. And, it doesn't matter if I'm gone for 5 minutes, or for 5 hours, or for 5 days....they are always thrilled to see me.

Day 1 - I'm Thankful For....

....my ward. I'm so thankful that I have people I can call at a moments notice for something I may need. My ward is TRULY a family, and I am so happy that we are a part of it.
Centennial Ward Rocks!!

I'm Back....Sort of

Wow...what a long three weeks. As you know, I was first infected with the Swine Flu. Not fun. Then last Saturday, it got a little scary when I was having trouble breathing. On Sunday, my mom took me to Urgent Care (while Ed & Heidi took the kids to church, since Hugh was working. Thanks Smiths!!) They did a chest x-ray, and it turns out I had PNEUMONIA!!! I was prescribed three different medications, which seem to have done the trick. I am feeling much better, but I am not quite 100%. I think the only good thing that came out of this was that I learned how to spell "pneumonia".
I have to say, I was well taken care of while I was out of commission. Hugh took over my role as Mommy, while continuing his busy role as Daddy and husband. He was able to take time off work and do all of the driving to and from the kids various activities. I also had several people from my ward bring dinners in and kept us from going hungry. So, to Bonnie, Wendy, Kristen, Laura, Tami, Nan, Heidi and Amy....thank you for taking care of us!!!
While I was sick, I missed out on a WHS Multi-Year Reunion - that I helped plan!! - which really bummed me out. I'm hoping that my old friends will have sympathy for me, and want to get together again around the holidays. I missed a football game of Connor's, and several days of church and church activities. All of this was a bummer, but the most important thing was that I rested so I could get well!! I seem to be heading in that direction.

Thanks for all of your sweet notes and prayers that were sent my way. All of this has made me realize how much I have to be grateful for, so since Thanksgiving is this month, I'm going to post something I am thankful for EACH DAY. I love Thanksgiving.
