My Scotty

My brother is hilarious. The kids adore him. I had to give him his own post to put up of a few funny shots from yesterday.
Pretending he is going to hit me with
this pan.
Ok, Scott and I tried to get a decent "from above"
picture of the two of us, but it was hard cuz he's so tall.
Courtney decided to jump behind us, but we didn't
know it until after we took the picture. I thought this
was hilarious.

Remember my post about the kids jumping on my
parents' bed? Well, who says you have to be a kid
to do that?
Courtney making the "koo koo" sign and pointing
at Koo Koo Uncle Scotty
Who makes the best face?? They're both
pretty good.

Thanksgiving Part 2

Friday morning, Hugh and I actually went to the gym (I probably wouldn't have gone if I was not "encouraged" by my hubby), I did some minimal shopping, and then it was time to get ready for round two at my parents' house. We surprised my parents by giving them their Christmas present early - a Wii. When they come over, you can't get Ron to leave because he wants to keep playing our Wii! So, we knew it was time for them to have their own. We got it all hooked up to their NEW flatscreen tv (way to go Mom!!) and were there until 10 playing it. Another long day. Anyway, that's my wrap up. Pictures are included. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Let the Holiday season begin!

Even Roxy was tired at the end of the day!

Thanksgiving Part 1

Our Thanksgiving lasted two days, so I'm doing this in two parts. Ok.....on Thanksgiving day, we went to Kim & Wayde's house at noon. A ton of people were there. I had to take three pictures to get everyone in!!! We ate, and ate, and ate some more. It was actually quite relaxing. We left there around 3:30 and then took the kids to see Twilight (my second time seeing it - LOVED IT!!) and Bolt. We finally got home around 10. Long day. Went to bed to prepare for part 2.

Shout Out to Wendy!!!

Ok, I didn't give proper KUDOS to Wendy for the amazing job she did on the decor for the gala. It truly looked gorgeous, and she did such a great job. The theme was all her idea, and everything flowed from there. It was also her idea for the Polynesian dancers!! The theme was the backbone for the entire event. So, Wendy, I tip my hat to you. You know I love you to pieces. And you deserve to be recognized for the HUGE part you've played for the past two years. THANK YOU!!!

My conversation with Wendy

I saw this picture on someone else's blog today. I loved it. So, I told Wendy about it. Our conversation went like this:
Me: I saw this awesome picture today. It's a picture of a couple kissing. (I explained the picture). I want to kiss like that. **sigh**
Wendy: I'll kiss you like that.
Me: LAUGH! LAUGH! LAUGH!
Not quite the same as kissing Hugh, but isn't Wendy a great friend to offer??

Reavis Ranch

Hugh took Connor on a hike. Not just any hike - a 9 mile in, stay overnight, 9 mile out hike. Connor. My 11 year old. I was a little nervous. They went with another guy from church, David Huber. There were a few more who were supposed to go, but had to back out at the last minute. Anyway, they left Friday morning for the three hour drive to the start of the trail. Then, they started the hike. It took 7 hours to get there. 7 HOURS!!!! 7 hours with packs attached to their backs. Connor needed a little help carrying his pack in. He did ok coming out. They took lots of breaks along the way. Lots of water. Lots of pictures. They camped out in a beautiful meadow - near the ranch (which was a ranch named after Elisha Reavis, an eccentric recluse who grew vegetables in the area in the late 19th century. Not much of the "ranch" is left). Connor saw a deer, a tarantula, and lots of other little critters along the way. They headed out Saturday morning, and that hike took 5 hours. Connor did lose one thing during their hike - his voice. He's a little under the weather. But they had a wonderful time. A great Father/Son memory was made.
On their way.
Getting Connor ready.

Look at my boy.

Look at my man.

Not tired yet.

Taking a rest.
Beautiful scenery.

The meadow.

Tired and ready to sleep.

I love this picture. You can see
Connor's legs right in front of
Hugh.

Another rest.

He made it!!
