Laugh Until Your Cheeks Hurt....or you pop a stitch

I had such a fun weekend. Friday night, Wendy and I went out for some "one-on-one" time, and I swear, I haven't laughed that hard in a L.O.N.G. time. I think she popped a stitch (from her recent surgery). Then Saturday night, Hugh and I went out with our great friends The Howes, The Kings & The Ashtons. We always have such a great time together. They are "our people".

I Love This

I love this. I just saw it on Facebook (thanks Hale!!) and I love it! Whenever I see a member of the military, I get all goosebumpy knowing that these men and women WILLINGLY join the armed forces in order to SERVE our COUNTRY. That's US. What a selfless thing to do. Anyway, I always want to say "Thank you" when I see one of these brave souls, but I feel so silly. (I usually try to talk one of the kids to go up to them, but they just look at me and roll their eyes. LOL) But, after seeing this, I have a new way to say Thank You. And you should too!

My Favorite Dance

This season of "So You Think You Can Dance" was AWESOME...as always. And I so missed it this week!!! Not to fret though...it starts up again at the beginning of September. My favorite dance of the season was "The Necklace Dance". That's not the technical name of it, but that's what we Chases called it. It was beautiful. It was H.O.T. And it was Uber Sexy. I almost had to have my kids close their eyes!!! Here it is.....

First Day of School 2009

This summer FLEW by!!! I can't believe school has already started. I now have two kids in 6th grade - even in the SAME class this year!! - and one in 5th. Unreal. I, of course, had to take a few pictures on the first day....

Stay-Cation

I'm just a few weeks overdue on this post.....

We went and stayed the night at Desert Ridge with the kids. It was so fun and relaxing! I love staying at hotels. And the kids think it's the "bomb". We hung out by the pool all Friday afternoon, then got ready and went out to dinner. After that, we stopped by Mojo's Yogurt at City North (cool place). Then back to the hotel. Woke up Saturday and went to breakfast. Then checked out and did some serious back to school shopping. SO fun. It was a quick over-nighter, but fun.

A Cupcake Success!!

The Moore Family....

Today was the big day for the much anticipated "Cupcakes for the Moores" bake sale. The girls worked their tails off all week and baked 18 dozen cupcakes. Plus, we had several of their friends donate cupcakes as well. More than 10 dozen were "pre-ordered" and pre-packaged (that part was done by Mom) but there were plenty left for the girls to sell today. They set up their "stations" and went to work. They were very organized and uber polite with their customers. Many people came by to buy their sweets. It was a fun day. A day I don't think either of the girls will forget.

An old friend (by "old" I mean we've been friends for a long time) stopped by and surprised the heck out of me! We haven't seen each other in years. I guess I better make cupcakes more often so he'll stop by! It was so great to see him!

This cracked me up. Once the delicious chocolate with chocolate frosting cupcakes donated by Tori Ames were gone, Caitlin made sure everyone knew it.

In the end, the girls raised over $600 to donate to the Moore Family. They were very excited, and I was very proud. I don't think it will be an experience that the girls will forget.

Bad Blogger

I've been such a bad blogger lately. I'm totally behind on my pictures of the day (like.....really behind) and I haven't been blogging in general - at all! I don't like this. I love my blog. I love to write down what's been going on in my life. But, it's been a bad couple of weeks. Too much death around me. It's hard to blog about fun, silly things when my family and friends are suffering with the loss of loved ones. But, after Friday (the funeral for Addie) and the Cupcake Sale (which the girls are totally ROCKING on !!) is over, I'll get back to business as usual.

Mr. Man

Yes, I said "Mr. Man". That's the name of Connor's new blog. Let me just say, the dude KILLS me!! I can't believe how quickly this computer stuff comes to him. Now, Courtney wants Connor to help her spruce up her blog. Too funny. Love that boy. So, if you want to make his day, go to his blog and leave a comment.

Cupcake Sale for the Moore Family

Caitlin & Courtney really want to do something to help the Moore Family. So, they've decided that they are going to bake cupcakes all week and then sell them at a Cupcake Sale at our house on Saturday. They cupcakes will be $1 a piece, and they'll have all sorts of yummy flavors! They can be picked up between noon and 4pm on Saturday. Or, if you live close enough, we can deliver them.

As a mom, I'm so touched that my girls are wanting to do this to help their friend's family. I'm beaming.
