What do we get Dad???

Hugh is the hardest person to shop for cuz he usually buys what he wants, when he wants it. The big brat. So, for Father's Day, the kids and I thought of a few of his favorite things! It included the movie Braveheart, a sugar free Red Bull, his favorite gum, Kit Kats, his favorite pickles, his favorite olives, and some Sweedish Fish. Yum!! He loved it, and the kids and I had fun putting it together. Too bad Hugh had to work the ENTIRE weekend! So, we gave this to him on Friday. Oh well....the life of a fireman.

Day 19 - Father's Day Celebration

We had a Father's Day celebration at my house yesterday. Unfortunately, the Father of this house was working. :( Sad! But, we got to celebrate my dad/Grandpa Ron. My parents came over, as well as Scott & Lisa (his new "friend), Scott, Jeni & Zac, and the four of us. Swim, eat and a little UFC. Not a bad day.

Day 18 - Old Friends

There was a WHS gathering on Friday night in preparation for the Class of '89 20 year reunion (that's my brother's class) so we went. Again, it's always fun to see my old classmates. I couldn't decide which picture to use as my Picture of the Day, so I'm posting a a couple. I'm a rebel and I like to break the rules!!!

You know those friends who you were so close with once, but you only talk once in a while now? And when you DO talk, it's like not a single day has passed? That's me and My Berta. Love this girl to pieces. I should dig up some old h.s. pictures of us...(2nd Day 18 picture)

I Love This!

I found this on You Tube tonight. It's awesome. Just a little peak into the career of my Andre. And I will say that the match between him and James Blake was the GREATEST TENNIS MATCH EVER!!
By the way, the beginning of this is his final match at the US Open in 2006. I cried that day. And cried again watching this. ***Sigh***

I know. I'm a dork.

Phase 1 - Complete

Ok, so about Andre and my quest. Here's the deal: They are selling tickets that include admission to the entire tournament PLUS a "Meet and Greet". And guess who that is with???? Yup. Uh huh. It's Andre. MY Andre. Needless to say, I will be purchasing a ticket. So will my mom cuz she's brave enough to go with me. What will I wear? Seriously, what do I wear when I meet the man I've wanted to meet for 23 years??? How do I act? Calm...cool....collected. But, I know myself, and I'm going to cry. I might have to have a letter explaining that a dream is coming true for me and that's why I'm emotional. And, how in the world am I going to get him to IGNORE everyone else who is there and let take him to juju berri for yogurt?
HOW??
I'm hoping this will be Andre's reaction when he sees me for the first time. All smiles and fist pumps. "YES! I'm finally meeting Toni!!"

Day 15.....Surgery

When we first got Griffin, this little doggie was his companion. Still is.

So we were heartbroken when we realized that his head was almost ripped off....

and you could see his brain guts.

Twisted in a very gross sort of way....
Caitlin to the rescue! "Is there anything in there that can help me??"

Griffin says "Caitlin....can you help??"

"YES! I can!!"

"Ok, I'll wait right here."

Caitlin started the delicate procedure. (Day 15 picture)

Working very slowly and carefully.....

Such concentration.

"Look a Pinata!!!" Griffin did not like this very much.

"Are you done yet??"

Caitlin layed the dog here for just a second.....

and Griffin jumped in for the grab!!!

Back to work....

Final snip....

All better!

"Here you go Griffin!" Griffin slept very well this night, thanks to Caitlin.

Pioneer Trek

This past weekend was our stake's Pioneer Trek. It is a way to catch a glimpse into what our pioneer ancestors did hundreds of years ago. It's a very difficult ordeal - dressing in pioneer clothes, walking for miles and miles each day while pulling handcarts, not a lot to eat - but in the end, it is such a rewarding experience. This trek is mainly geared toward the youth (you have to 14 to go) with couples chosen as "Ma's and Pa's" for each family. Hugh went as a part of the medical team. He did walk a lot of the trek, but he got to eat LOTS of food. (Don't tell the youth that.) He was so impressed with how it was all organized. The next one will be four years from now, and all three of the kids will go. Which means, Hugh and I will probably be a "Ma & Pa". Oh boy.....I'm going to start mentally preparing NOW.
Look at my hot pioneer hubby.
Oooh, baby.
