We spent Christmas Eve with Kort, Amy & Emmi. They brought dinner over and we just enjoyed spending time together, and being with Miss Emmi for her first Christmas! We gave the kids their traditional Christmas Eve jammies, and let the kids exchange their gifts with each other. Kort and Amy left, and I made hot chocolate, and we settled in to watch our annual Christmas Eve movie - The Nativity Story. It gives us a chance to re-group and really focus on what Christmas is all about - our Savior!! It is a great movie and brings to life Joseph & Mary and what they went through to bring Jesus Christ in to this world. I highly recommend it.
We sent the kids to bed, and Hugh and I spent the rest of the night getting ready for Christmas day. We finally went to bed at about 1am!!
The kids let us sleep in until about 8. Then it was all business! Present presents and more presents! They all seemed very happy with their loot. At 10, my family came over for brunch and some Band Hero! After everyone left, we headed off to see Avatar, and then home to crash. What a day! It's crazy that we spend so much time preparing yet it's over in a matter of a few hours. It ended up being a great Christmas.
Sock Monkeys for the girls!
Funny story....The song "Honkey Tonk Woman" is on Band Hero. One of Ron's favorites. Well, Band Hero was smart enough to censor some of the words that are....um....questionable. However, Ron knew ALL of the words and with that microphone in his hand, there was no stopping him! Thankfully, the kids were so into playing their instruments that the didn't notice Grandpa's singing. So funny.
